Angelina Jolie Honored with 'Damewood' by the Queen of England

In recognition for her relentless her work at trying to stamp out rape and sexual violence in war zones,Angelina Jolie was  conferred with an honorary title by the queen of England at the Buckingham Palace.
The 39 year old actress was presented with the Insignia of an Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George.She is also the World's Highest Paid actress as listed by Forbes..

Okonjo-Iweala named African Finance Minister of the Year

 In her acceptance speech, Dr Okonjo-Iweala said;

"I am delighted and honored to have been picked as African Finance Minister of the Year 2014. Africa has come a long way from decades of economic stagnation to steady growth that has seen the continent make a huge leap for the better. In Nigeria, we are marching on. The building blocks for a greater future are being laid. A few days ago, a young man; David James Jay, circulated an emotional letter on Facebook  and Twitter about his personal struggles. I found two things interesting about his story, namely; his need and the reaction of the public to his situation. Concerning his need; David isn’t dying of Ebola, his sister isn’t one of the missing girls and there is nothing wrong with his kidney. He is simply a computer science student who needs  ten thousand naira (N10,000) to complete his savings to buy a computer in order to make the most of his university education. (Read James’ story)

Naomi Campbell Aims to Help Fight Ebola with Benefit Fashion Shows in 2015

Supermodel Naomi Campbell is working to launch benefit fashion shows in February to help raise funds to fight Ebola.
Campbell exclusively told Page Six in New York this week she wants to stage one star-studded show during New York Fashion Week in February and another to follow in London.
“I’m scared,” admitted Campbell of the spread of the disease, adding she has a home in Kenya and already works with three orphanages there. She added she wants the charity fashion shows to help victims and educate the public because, “people don’t have a clear idea about what Ebola is.”
Campbell has previously created Fashion for Relief shows to benefit relief efforts in Haiti and Japan, with participants like Kate Moss, Agyness Deyn, Rosario Dawson, Karolina Kurkova, Jane Fonda, Geri Halliwell and Dame Shirley Bassey, and supporters Diane von Furstenberg, Kelly Osbourne and Dasha Zhukova.

The National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, is pushing for the use of the new national e-Identity card as travel document. One of the applets fixed in the card has all the travel details and requirements contained in Nigeria’s e-passport.
